Donna Jean Delphey, 86 years old passed away February 5, 2026 with family by her side. She was born May 29, 1939 in Elkton, Michigan to the late Harold O. Rasmussen and Angelina L. (Leitch) Rasmussen-Gardner. She graduated from Lori High School and attended Delta University. On August 9, 1958, Donna united in marriage to Robert E. Delphey in Detroit, Michigan. She was a devoted wife, loving mother and caring grandmother. She worked for Ford Motor Company and Dr. Henry Gluck in the Detroit area, before moving to Bad Axe in 1969 with her family. While living in the Bad Axe area, she worked for Dr. Gerald Hart Optometrist; Donna retired from Independent Bank where she worked as an Executive Assistant to the President, Mr. Hebert. In addition to her family, she enjoyed knitting, crocheting, gardening, traveling, reading, family gatherings and building family photo albums.
Donna is survived by her husband of 68 years, Robert Delphey, two sons Mark (Cindy) Delphey of Mindoro, Wisconsin, Robert (Rhonda) Delphey of Hillsdale, Michigan, two daughters Robin (Steve) Seigo of Filion, Michigan and Kimberly Delaney (special friend Greg) of Sebewaing, Michigan, ten grandchildren Kyle Delphey, Kati Hagmann (special friend Rob), Angela Hagmann, Veronica Delphey, Shannon Delphey (special friend Will), Vincent Seigo, Joshua Case, Chelsi (Michael) Linzner, Christopher (Austin) Clark and Cora (Jordan) Ridenour and also three great-grandchildren; Duncan, Wyatt and Victor Linzner, brother Richard Gardner of Elkton Michigan and sister-in-law Diane Gardner of St. Joseph Michigan. Several Aunts, Uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, stepfather Francis Gardner, brother Dale Gardner, Sisters-in-Law Betty Gardner, Pam Gardner, Son-in-Law Thomas Delaney and granddaughter Jaime Seigo.
Per the family’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of Donna’s life will be held at a later date.
