Donna's Obituary

Donna Jean Kane, born June 26, 1941, passed away peacefully on October 3, 2025, at the age of 84.

Donna was the beloved wife of the late Hal Kane and the devoted mother of William (Tammy) Kane, Monica (Fred) Johnson, and Lisa Kane. She was a loving grandmother to Steven James (Melissa) Matusiewicz and the late Claudia Matusiewicz, and a proud great-grandmother to Liliana Deese, Steven James Matusiewicz III, and Addison Marie Matusiewicz .

Donna was preceded in death by her parents, William and Ruby Reeves, and her brother, Dale Reeves.

For 25 years, Donna served as the head cook for the Taylor School System, where her hard work and kind heart touched countless students and staff. Outside of work, she enjoyed karaoke, playing cards, and spending time on the computer, and playing solitaire and Yahtzee. She loved to cook and was known for her generosity, always giving to others and supporting many charities.

Donna’s greatest joy was her family. She found happiness in making others smile, and she will be remembered for her warmth, cheerful spirit, and the kindness she shared with everyone she met. She was a wonderful listener, a loyal friend, and a woman with a truly big heart.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Donna’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the Wounded Warrior Project.
