Donna Loraine Steiner, age 86 of Nappanee, IN, went to be with her Heavenly Father at 4 am on Thursday morning, September 11, 2025 at Hubbard Hill Estates, Elkhart, IN. Donna was born on May 1, 1939 in Deckerville, MI to Ford and Vivian (Montgomery) Weyeneth. Donna was a graduate of Deckerville High School and Elkhart University. On October 1, 1960 Donna married Paul “David” Steiner II in Deckerville, MI.They lived most of their lives in Northern Indiana, spending 35 years in Wakarusa, IN and then 24 years in Nappanee. Donna worked for many years as a tech for Dr. Miller and Dr. Abel in Wakarusa. She attended Nappanee Missionary Church and was active in her faith. God gifted Donna with being “present” for others. She cared for those she crossed paths with very deeply. In her free time, she loved tennis and other sports, especially those her children and grandchildren were active in. Above all else Donna was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved attending her grandchildren’s activities and the time she got to spend with them. Donna is survived by her husband of almost 65 years, Paul David Steiner II of Nappanee; 3 children: Alan (Kris) Steiner of Leo, IN, Sherri (James) Ellis of Nappanee, and Mark (Paula) Steiner of Wakarusa; 8 grandchildren: Joel (Kate) Steiner, Lauren (Michael) Buschbacher, Luke (Becca) Steiner, Corey Ellis, Garrett Ellis, Wesley (Katie) Steiner, Maggie Steiner and Neleh Steiner; 8 great grandchildren: Mary, Josiah, Gideon, and Nathaniel Buschbacher, Agnes and Emmanuel Steiner, and Rowen and Norah Steiner; and a brother, Donald (Jayne) Weyeneth of Sandusky, MI. Donna was preceded in death by her parents. Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 6-8 pm on Tuesday, September 16, 2025 in the Nappanee Missionary Church Chapel (Enter Door H) and from 9:30-10:30 am on Wednesday, September 17, 2025 in the Nappanee Missionary Church Worship Center (Enter Door A). A funeral service will begin at 10:30 am on Wednesday in the Worship Center. Pastor Dave Engbrecht will officiate and burial will take place in South Union Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Donna’s name can be given to Missions at Nappanee Missionary Church.
