Donna Sutter, age 98, formerly of Wakarusa, Indiana, died after a short, unexpected illness on Saturday, November 29, 2025 at 1:35pm in Goshen. She was born on April 23, 1927 in Fulton County, Ohio to Earl and Clara (Borkholder) Beck. Donna was a Pettisville High School graduate and on August 17, 1952, she married Omar D. Sutter. He preceded her in death on March 31, 1985. Before moving to Elkhart County in 1971, Donna and Omar lived in Sarasota, Florida. Donna was not only a homemaker but worked in the kitchen for Wakarusa Middle School, sewed for Joni Furniture Store, and worked at a poultry farm. She was an active member of Yellow Creek Mennonite Church , participating in many activities there as well as at Bayshore Mennonite Church during her time in Florida. Donna enjoyed sewing, cooking, listening to music, watching sports, and making everyone laugh. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren. Donna is survived by her children; Terry (Marlene) Sutter of Goshen, Rhonda Sutter of Elkhart, Doug Sutter of Goshen, and Steve Sutter of Elkhart; 2 grandchildren, Becky (Brent) Lewis of Brimfield, Illinois, and Ryan (Emily) Sutter of Etna Green; 6 great grandchildren, Rylee, Jenna, and Jake Lewis, and Josiah, Jackson, and Caleb Sutter; and brothers; Marvin (Shirley) Beck of Pettisville, Ohio and Roger (Jean) Beck of Archbold, Ohio; along with many nieces and nephews. Donna was preceded in death by siblings Delmer Beck, Ivan Beck, and Evelyn Traeger; and daughter-in-law, Mary Sutter. Visitation will be on Thursday, December 4, 2025 from 1-3pm at Yellow Creek Mennonite Church. The Committal service will be at 3pm, immediately followed by a funeral service in the sanctuary. Burial will follow at Yellow Creek Cemetery. Pastor Wes Bontreger will officiate. Memorial contributions can be made in Donna’s name to Yellow Creek Mennonite Church. Arrangements are with Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Wakarusa.
