Donnie Marie Shaifer was born on June 3, 1945, in Gary, Indiana, to the union of Eugene and Florida Roby. She transitioned peacefully on May 26, 2025, with her loving daughters by her side. Donnie was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Florida Roby; two sons, John Richard Louden II, and Gregory Kenny Shaifer II; one sister, Emma Jean Lucas; three brothers, Ernest Williams, Eugene Roby, and Calvin Roby; grandparents, Henry and Magdalene Millard, and Claude and Ella Roby; and a special niece, Lenitta Williams-Gibson.
Donnie is survived by her three devoted daughters, Diane, Stephanie, and Rachelle. Seven cherished grandchildren: Raphael, Montel, Deon (Priscilla), Ta'Nika, Christopher II, Jaelin, and Jourdyn, as well as nine beloved great-grandchildren: De'Avionne, Samone, Montel Jr., Samiyah, Samauree-Ann, Chayse, Iiyani, I'iNiya, and Carter. Her surviving siblings include four sisters; Ernestine, Magdalene, Doris (Michael), and Katherine. One brother; Larry (Naomi). Her family circle also includes two special nieces, Linda and Nikia, along with a host of other family and friends.
