Funeral services for Donnie Jean Reppond Smith, age 93 of Dean, LA, will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, October 6, 2025 at Dean Baptist Church in Marion, LA, with Bro. Tim Tynes and Bro. Bubba Hogget officiating. Interment will follow at Reppond Cemetery under the direction of Farrar Funeral Home.
Donnie Jean was born September 28, 1932, named after her grandmother, which gives her her unique name, went to be with the Lord and her husband, James E. Smith, on October 2, 2025. She lived for the Lord and every family gathering or whenever she saw you, she would encourage you to follow the Lord. Her dream was to see all her family and friends in Heaven rejoicing with her in eternity.
Donnie Jean was met in Heaven by her husband of 48 years, James Edward Smith; her parents, Frank and Louise Reppond; her in laws, Walter and Ruth Smith; her sister who meant the world to her, Jo Towns and husband LV Towns; wonderful brother-in-law, Bruce Traylor; and cherished and devoted son in law, Junior Scarborough.
Left to cherish Donnie Jean are her children, Janie Scarborough; Don Smith (Janet), Glen Smith (Carol), Dolores Baker (Roger), Paul Smith (Libby), and Mona Lisa Sullivan (Terry); a special son that she didn’t give birth to but loved as her own son, Lee Brantley (Debbie); Donnie Jean always said she didn’t have in laws, they were all her children. Her very special sister, Mildred Traylor; her baby brother, Benny Reppond (Nancy); 13 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren with two more on the way; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM, Sunday, October 5, 2025 at Dean Baptist Church.
