Donovan Stafford Lewis, Sr.

Don and I go back many years to when we graduated from FHS in 1952. He was a great baseball player but a better friend.We kinda kept up over the years and when he built the house by the side of the road I would stop by, and we would drink coffee, talk sports and remember past good times. As one goes through life many people pass through it. As I ponder that and life I realize how very special Don was. Rest in peace my old friend.

Cindy, Vandy and family: Mom and I are so sorry to hear about Mr Don’s passing. Each of you are in our thoughts and prayers now and in the days to days to come. Mr Don was a very special person full of love and caring for everyone. Mom thought the world of him plus him and your Mom gave me my first job. He will be truly missed.

You will be missed!

When I moved to the area in 1980 and sold ads for my in-laws newspapers, Mr. Don and Miss Willie made me feel like family from day one, never too busy to say How are you? And mean it. What a footprint of kindness he has left.

Sorry to hear about Don. He will surely be missed. He was a good man. Our prayers are with the family.

Don was a great friend of our families. As a fellow merchant, he exemplified the highest standards in business. His and Willie’s legacies will continue to bless all who follow. May the Lord bring comfort to all those who love and cherish Don.
