Dora's Obituary

Mrs. Dora Mae Barnett, age 80, of Rome, passed away on Wednesday, January 7, 2015, at a local hospital.Mrs. Barnett was born in Floyd County, Georgia on January 14, 1934, daughter of the late Doc Howard Kelly and the late Emma Mae Allen Kelly. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles Thomas Barnett, by a son, Ronnie Lee Barnett, and by a brother, Charles Henry Kelly. She was a member of the Shorter Avenue Baptist Church and worked for a number of years in manufacturing.Survivors include a daughter, Donna Barnett Reid and her companion, Gerry Maddox, Hartwell; a son, Tommy H. Barnett and his wife, Denise, Kingston; grandchildren, Michael Cook and his wife, Kathryn, Las Vegas, NV, and their children, Logan and Jack, Thomas Lee Barnett and his wife, Christie, Monroe, and their children, Jade and Asher, and Chris Monroe Barnett and his wife, Joanne, Bethlehem; a brother, William Kelly, Cedartown; sisters-in-law, Louise Kelly, Rome, and Betty Thompson, Marietta; nephews, Kenneth Kelly, Ricky Kelly, and Steve Kelly; he pet and companion for several years, Lulu.Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2015, at 11am in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, with the Rev. Max Tucker officiating. Private interment will follow in Oaknoll Memorial Gardens.The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, on Saturday from 10am until the service time. At other hours, they may be contacted at their respective residences.Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, has charge of the funeral arrangements.
