Dora Mae Taylor, 90, of Dibble, died Friday, August 29, 2025, at her home. The daughter of Ernest Franklin Morlan and Mary Jane (Reese) Morlan, she was born September 11, 1934, in Guthrie, Oklahoma. She grew up and attended school in Guthrie, where she played basketball and softball, and participated in 4-H.
Dora was Pentecostal Holiness in Faith and was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. She started nursing at the age of 17 and worked in hospitals and nursing homes for 20 years. She also operated her own laundromat and worked as a cashier for Wal-Mart for a few years. Dora then went to work driving a school bus for Anadarko Public Schools until her retirement in 1994. In her spare time, she enjoyed quilting, fishing, camping, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Henry Taylor; one son, Frank Fitzpatrick; six brothers, Ernest, Edward, Charles, Billie, Robert, and Gene Morlan; and two sisters, Dorothy Snow, and Verna Jacks.
Dora is survived by one son, Robert Taylor of Dibble; six daughters, Mary McKnight of Gracemont, Diana Thurman of Elk City, Julia Childers of Elk City, Anita Reno of Oklahoma City, Rhonda Edmondson of Anadarko, and Delores Taylor of Dibble; 25 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; one sister, Linda Morlan; numerous nieces and nephews; and many other loved ones and friends.
A private burial was held in the Memory Lane Cemetery in Anadarko. Arrangements are under the direction of Eisenhour Funeral Home of Blanchard. Online obituary and guestbook are available at www.eisenhourfh.com.
