Doris's Obituary

WATERTOWN, NY – Doris E. E. Combs, 69, of Burdick Street, passed away on December 24, 2025 at her home.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2026 from 12-1 pm at Reed and Benoit Funeral Home. A funeral service will immediately follow at 1 pm.

Doris was born on April 26, 1956 in Watertown, daughter of the late John and Marjorie (Loomis) Towsley. She was employed as a housekeeper for various motels in the area including the Econo Lodge, Microtel Inn, Holiday Inn Express, and the Days Inn.

On July 2, 1988 Doris married Keith Combs after spending ten years together.

Doris enjoyed rummage sales and playing bingo with her twin sister Dorothy.

Survivors include her husband, Keith; a son, Rennie Frizzell, Jr. of Elmira; three daughters, Melissa Mae Frizzell of Elmira, Heather (Kenneth) Granger of Watertown, and Marjorie (Brian) Hardy of Clarksville, TN; one sister, Carol Hubbard of Theresa; many grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Doris was predeceased by a son, George Frizzell, her twin sister, Dorothy Combs who passed on June 3, 2023, as well as her sisters Jane, Elaine, and Marion and brothers William and Daniel Towsley, and a grandchild, Logan Granger.
