Doris Dean Fralie was born in Lordsburg, New Mexico on November 8, 1928 to Lenora White and Dannie Parker Adams. She passed away peacefully at her home in Douglas, AZ on April 24, 2017.After growing up on a small ranch near Animas, New Mexico, Doris graduated from Animas High School in 1946 and started her college education at Western New Mexico University in Silver City, where she pursued a degree in elementary education. She graduated from college in 1950 and accepted a teaching position in Santa Rita, NM. After teaching there for two years, she decided to move somewhere warmer which brought her to Douglas, AZ. In Douglas, she met and married her husband of 50 years, Harry Fralie. Together, they built the home where they lived for 60 years and raised two daughters. During her 33 year teaching career, she taught thousands of students at several different schools. She enjoyed teaching reading and physical education the most. She was passionate about helping kids become successful young adults and had an innate ability to remember the names of her students even until recent years. After she retired, she enjoyed spending time with her family and traveling with her husband. She was preceded in death by her husband Harry, father Dannie, mother Lenora, an infant sister Shirley, step-father Jefferson Levi Dunagan, and brother Norman Adams.She is survived by her daughters Lenna (Marcus) Mitchell and Margi (Dale) Cureton, sister Carol (Weldon) Smith, step-brother Clinton Dunagan, four grandchildren, Shyla Mitchell, Bo (Ashley) Mitchell, Randy Cureton and Kelsi Cureton and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Services for Doris will be held on Saturday, April 29, 2017 at Brown Page Mortuary in Douglas, AZ. A viewing will be held at 9:00 followed by the funeral service at 11:00. Burial at Calvary Cemetery will immediately follow the service.
