I am so sorry to hear of Mrs.Doris passing. She was the hardest working lady I’ve known. She was always so kind and cheerful. Mom and I visited her many times , she was always smiling and welcoming us into her home.
You all, are in my prayers. I will not be able to get there but I will definitely be thinking of you. I’m sending love and prayers.

Doris's Obituary

Funeral services and burial for Mrs. Doris Lucille Jackson, 94, of Cookeville, TN will be held on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at 1:00pm from the Chapel of Whitson Funeral Home with burial at the Crest Lawn Memorial Cemetery. Visitation with the family will also be on Wednesday at Whitson Funeral Home from 11:00am till time of the service at 1:00pm. Bro. Joel Hillis and Bro. Johnny Brown will officiate at the service.

Mrs. Jackson passed away on Sunday, November 2, 2025, at the Life Care of Sparta.

Doris Lucille Jackson was born on January 12, 1931, in Putnam County, TN to the late Lem and Mandy Bell (Nash) Hickey Scott. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Winnell Jackson; Stepfather: Herman Scott; Sons-In-Law: Bob Parrott and Wendell Bush; Grandchildren: Marcus Bush and Justin Parrott. Plus 4 Brothers and 5 Sisters.

She was a member of Antioch Church of Christ, and truly loved and enjoyed farming which included gardening, tobacco, and hay with her husband Winnell.

She is survived four daughters and sons-in-law: Barbara (John) Brown, Linda Bush, Kay (Duane) Hensley, and Faye Parrott. Three Sisters and Brother-In-Law: Corinne Mabry, Ruth Lafever, and LouElla (Ronnie) Jones.

4 Grandchildren and Spouses: Angela (John) Kicklighter, Melissa (Harvey) Woodman, Johnny (Julianne) Brown, Amy (Brandon) Scott.

9 Great Grandchildren
