Family, I'm so sorry for the loss of our dear Jean. She and I were very dear cousins for many years. We lost touch with each other through the years. But the memory of those good former years yet linger. She was truly a very special lady. With sincere condolences and love.

Funeral services for Mrs. Doris Jean Mass,84, will be held Saturday, March 29, 2025, in the Lewis Funeral Home Chapel at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at the Macedonia Cemetery in Marshall, TX. Viewing will be Saturday morning from 10:00 a.m. to service time. Mrs. Mass was born November 6, 1940, in Marshall, TX. and died March 13, 2025, in Longview, TX.  Mrs. Doris Jean Fisher-Mass, 84, from Marshall, Texas passed March 13, 2025, at Whispering Pines Lodge in Longview, Texas.

Doris Jean Fisher Mass was born November 6, 1940, in Marshall, Texas. She was the daughter of Albert Jordan Fisher, Sr. and Luther Mae Robertson-Fisher.

Doris worked for Marshall Memorial Hospital and retired from the Pit Grill. She was a dedicated cook and homemaker. She was a faithful member at Second Pleasant Hill Baptist Church until her health declined. She loved Jesus, her Bible, praying, and singing her favorite gospel songs. Doris lived and loved caring for her grandchildren, great grands, and great nieces, Alicia and Jasmine, and nephews, Ryan and Carlyle.

Doris married Robert Lewis Mass of Tyler, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lewis Mass; parents, Albert Jordan Fisher, Sr. and Luther Mae Fisher; her son, Guy Dimitri Fisher; siblings, Ruby Pearl Fisher-Ford, Albert Fisher, Jr., Bettye D. Fisher-Lacy; granddaughter, Lakeisha Shantylle Mass-Maloy; great grandson, Mykael Evans and a great friend, Dorothy Jean Smith. 

She leaves to cherish her memory: children, Robin Nanette Fisher, Jeannie Elizabeth Mass, Jon Charles Mass; daughter-in-law, Laverne Jackson Fisher; 10 grandchildren, Curvey Fisher, Laderika Smith, Demetrius Fisher, Demetrius Mass, Brittany Williams, Darrius Fisher, Erica Mass, Norris Mass, Dimitri Fisher and Xzavier Mass; 25 great grandchildren. Her daily routine was Jatavious (JJ), Jakevia (KeKe) and Mykael (Mymy). Special nieces, Johnna, Bettye, Natalie, and Jolanda Parker, and nephew, Reginald D. Fisher, and a host of other relatives and friends.
