Just heard today the sad news of your Mother's passing. May God comfort you in this time of sorrow. Mama Doris is now an Angel in Heaven. She was the sweetest lady and warm and loving neighbor.

Doris Mary Morris Orticke

Doris Mary Morris Orticke, of New Orleans, La, entered her eternal home on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at the age of 91. Doris was the daughter of the late Daniel and Maude Morris. She is survived by her children, Giselle and Shelby (Cheryl) Orticke; grandchildren, Juwan (Darice) and Brandon Orticke; Danielle and Norwood Morris III, one great-granddaughter, Jade, one sister, Edith Reimonenq, and close cousin/sister, Gwen Bouligny. Doris will also be foundly missed by a host of nieces, nephews, and many extended family members. Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Orticke, her siblings; Eunice Robertson, Olga Dorothy, Betty and Cleo Morris, Norwood, Sr. Donald, Sr, Alvin, and Gerald Morris. Family and friends are invited to attend the Celebration of Life and Mass of Christian Burial at St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church, 5621 Elysian Fields Avenue, New Orleans, La 70122 at 11:00 a.m on Friday, March 6, 2026.
