Douglas “Dolly” Blaylock, 73, passed away on Sunday, September 14, 2025, at his home in the Shiloh community of Itawamba County. He was born January 10, 1952, to BM and Vernie Peoples Blaylock. He worked several years at Witchers Trucking Company and at Steak Escape in the Mall at Tupelo, before becoming disabled. He enjoyed listening to music, going dancing on the weekends at the DAV in Tupelo, and playing Bingo. He especially enjoyed chasing his great-granddaughter, who always made his eyes light up.
Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 17, at Fanning the Flame Ministries in Baldwyn with Bro.’s Ricky Barnett and Jennie Barnett officiating. Burial will be in the Center Star Cemetery. McNeece-Morris Funeral Home of Mantachie is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include his wife, Joann Blaylock; one son, Nelson McMillen (Chelsea); one daughter, Maryann McMillen, all of Mantachie; three sisters, Barbara Reynolds and Wanda Dill, both of Mantachie, and Peggy Bailey of Myrtle; two brothers, Wayne Blaylock and Billy Blaylock (Fay), both of Verona; six grandchildren, Mason Hill, Kain Kennedy, Chase McMillen, Carson McMillen, Dayden McMillen, and Dawson McMillen; one special great-granddaughter, Raelyn McMillen; several other extended family members.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Bobby Joe Blaylock, Ray Blaylock and Olen Blaylock; one sister, Faye Blaylock; his brother-in-law, Dale Reynolds; and his parents.
Pallbearers will be Nelson McMillen, Chase McMillen, Carson McMillen, Kain Kennedy, and Terry Reynolds.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 11 a.m. until service time at Fanning the Flame Ministries Church, 834 Ripley Road, Baldwyn, MS.
