Douglas's Obituary

Douglas “Doug” Jorgensen, 67, of Lennox, South Dakota, passed away on March 23, 2026 surrounded by his family. 

Doug was born on June 19, 1958, at Sioux Valley Hospital to Harold and Virginia (Johnke) Jorgensen. He was raised on a farm southeast of Lennox and graduated from Lennox High School in 1976.

Following high school, Doug worked briefly in insurance before beginning a long and dedicated career with Team Laboratory Chemical, where he worked from March 1991 until the present.

Doug enjoyed the simple pleasures in life. He loved golfing, taking leisurely drives with his wife, and making trips to Chancellor to relax, have a beer, and play the nickel machines. He valued time spent with family and friends,and found joy in everyday moments.

On August 4, 1979, Doug was united in marriage to Rebecca “Becky” Sinning. Together they built a life centered on family and love, and were blessed with two sons, Nicholas (Nick) and Lucas (Luke). Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Becky; his children, Nick and Tanja Jorgensen, and his grandchildren, Cheyenne, Broedy, Austyn Jorgensen, Jaida and Wyatt Wilson all of Watertown, SD. Luke and Stephanie Jorgensen, and his grandchildren Owen and Andrew Jorgensen of Sioux Falls, SD. He is also survived by his mother, Virginia; his brothers Rod (Deb) Jorgensen, Joe (Ann) Jorgensen and Steve (Michele) Jorgensen; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Doug was preceded in death by his brother Dale Jorgensen; his father Harold Jorgensen; and his grandparents Orville and Vivian Johnke, and Orvald and Eileen Jorgensen; his mother-in-law Norma Sinning. 

Visitation will take place on Saturday, March 28, 2026, from 1:00–3:00 p.m. at Second Reformed Church in Lennox, SD, with the funeral service immediately following at 3:00 p.m.
