Dow Coy McGlothlin, Sr., 60, of Newton, died Tuesday, August 12, 2014, in the Roane General Hospital, Spencer. He was born May 29, 1954, at Newton a son of the late Dow and Virgie Cottrell McGlothlin. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth McKenzie Hickman McGlothlin; one sister, Lulabelle Chapman. Dow was a retired employee of Ziegler Tire, Akron, OH and AmCor, Amma. Survivors include his children, Della Dunn (John) of Barberton, OH, Dow McGlothlin, Jr. of Newton, Okey McGlothlin of Barberton, OH, Christopher McGlothlin of Cleveland, OH, Michelle Conley of Barberton, OH, Anna Hartline (John) and Frankie Hickman, Jr (Kimberly) both of Norton, OH; brothers, Romie "Mike" McGlothlin and Delmar "Bud" McGlothlin both of Newton; sisters, Eula "Ann" Dye of Newton, Patsy "Pat" McGlothlin of Cleveland, OH, Willa "Faye" Towner of Dexter City, OH and Janet McKenzie of Newton; 18 grandchildren and three great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held Friday, August 15 at 1:00 p.m. in the John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, with Pastor Justin S. Simmons officiating. Burial will be in the Keen Cemetery, Newton.
