Dr. Alvin's Obituaries
Dr. Elder Alvin “A.J.” / “Sarge” James Sargent, Sr. entered into eternal rest at West Jefferson Medical Center on Friday, November 9, 2018 at the age of 87. He was a native of Thibodaux, LA and a resident of Gretna, LA. Alvin was a retired Internal Revenue Service Auditor, Ordained Minister and Radio Host. Sarge served in the United States Air Force and received NAT DEF SVC Medal and Good Conduct Medal
Elder Sargent received a Doctorate of Theology.
Husband of the late Dorothy W. Sargent. Father of Alvin James (Algonech) Sargent, Jr., Barbara J. Sargent, Anthony F. (Carolyn) Sargent, Thomas L. (Vera) Sargent, Sr., Raynard D. (Donna) Sargent, Sr., Debra S. (Kenneth) Mitchell, Sandra W. (Leonard) Weems, Wanda G. Sargent, and the late Michael J. Sargent, Sr. Son of the late Thomas and Beatrice W. Sargent. Grandson of the late Thomas and Cecilia Thibodaux Waller, Sam and Melissa Sargent , also survived by 15 grandchildren, 24 great grand grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Relatives and friends of family are invited to attend the funeral service at Davis Mortuary Service 6820 Westbank Expressway Marrero, LA on Friday, November 16, 2018 at 9:00a.m.
Visitation will begin 8:00a.m. at the above named parlor.
Interment: Southeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetery-Slidell, LA.
