I want to offer my condolences to Bro Bill’s family. Bro Bill was my Pastor at Bethel Baptist Church from his first day as our Pastor until I married in 1978. I married a Marine and moved. I always looked for a church with a Pastor like Bro Bill, but never could find one. I loved Myra also. She did so much with us teenage girls. I was friends with Steve as well. Brother Billy was a great man of God and a big help to me as a young preacher. He preached for me at my first church in Chattanooga Tn. He told me God was gonna bless our work cause the devil can’t find your church he said it took me 2 roadmaps and a CB radio to find y’all. Prayers for all the Family

Dear Sis. Myra and family, I was sorry to hear of your temporary separation from Bro. Billy. He was a wonderful Preacher and friend! I’m elated for him, but we surely miss our loved ones who “graduate” and leave us behind. Reunion day, I believe, is just around the bend. Prayers for the sweet comfort only Christ can give. I surrender to preach at Faith Baptist Camp under the preaching of brother Billy Goolsby! I’m so very thankful for this dear man of God and the wonderful testimony he kept through the years. I’m also thankful for his close friendship to my Dad and the Hope Of Israel Baptist Mission. Brother Goolsby will surely be missed.

Grief can be so hard, but our special memories help us cope. Remembering you and your loved one today and always.

Bro. Goolesby was one of the greatest Bible preachers in my generation. He preached without fear or favor. I've preached with him in many places and he never wavered. May his mantle fall on someone.
