Doug was a guest in our home for a period of time and worked with Paul doing home maintenance. Doug was full of life and dedicated that life to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Obituary

Dwight's Obituary

Dwight Douglas “Doug” Siddle was born in Eastern Ohio on December 16, 1957. When Doug

was elementary age, his parents moved the family to Oracle, Arizona. Doug’s dad worked at

the San Manuel Copper Mine for the remainder of his working career. Doug grew up in the

shadow of the Santa Catalina Mountains and attended Oracle schools. As an adult, Doug lived in Arizona, California, Texas and finally Grinnell. Doug moved to Grinnell in 2013 and immediately went to work at ON Call Restoration, where he continued to work until his death. Doug was a great tinkerer and believed he could fix anything. Doug never met a stranger and made anyone in his presence feel they were important and cared for by him.

He had a gift for helping others and a sincere caring heart. Doug loved ice cream and flying his drones.

Doug is survived by one son, two brothers, two sisters, his church family in New Sharon and

dozens of friends. Doug was preceded in death by his parents.

Nothing was more important to Doug than his faith in Christ. His sincere hope was that others would come to faith in Jesus Christ by him living out his faith. Doug died of injuries suffered in a traffic accident in east Poweshiek County on August 8. He died on Sunday August 10, 2025, at University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City.

A celebration of Doug’s life will be held 6:00 PM on Friday, August 22, 2025, at Engage Assembly of God Church, New Sharon. A meal will follow.

Any memorial donations should be made to Engage Church, 208 East Maple Street, New Sharon, IA 50207.
