Single Memorial Tree

I had the privilege of having Dyllan as a classmate this past school year. He was certainly one of the class clowns. One thing that always made me laugh was the way that he was not at all worried about embarrassing himself. One time, he recited all the lyrics to every song in Frozen in the chat box, and we all got a good laugh out of it.
I will continue to pray for all the loved ones he left behind. Thank you, Mr. and Mrs. Rye for raising him to love the Lord. Thanks to you two, I can...

Thank y'all for raising such an amazing young man and friend. He always brought so much energy, joy, and laughs to class and Bible study. I am truly blessed to have gotten to know him through Logos and to count him as a friend. One of my favorite memories was driving back from Silverwood at the YEC 2024. Dyllan, Jadon, and Joshua Corey were all sitting in the back and began wrestling over a water bottle when it exploded and completely soaked them. We are fervently praying for yall and keeping...

Andy, Amanda and family, We are heart broken for all of you and at Dyllan's tragic passing. All of our love is being wished upon you during this sad and painful time. We love you and pray for comfort as you navigate Dyllan's loss and life with him in your hearts and spirits now. He was an angel.

Dyllan could be so funny and kind of goofy at times but always sweet. For 10 years I had the joy and privilege of watching him grow into a responsible young man. “Mourning with those who mourn” (Rom. 12:15) Comes natural when you deeply love and cherish those who are mourning. To the entire Rye family, I do deeply love and cherish each one of you very much and wish there was some way to take this pain from you. I can't, but “I know a guy”. I'm so grateful that we, along with Dyllan, all...

Andy, Amanda, and family,
Our thoughts and prayers are with you and the family in this time of grieving. May your hearts be filled with love and memories of how great Dyllan was. He truly was a great kid. Please accept our condolences during this tough time. Hugs and prayers.
Jamie, Rachel, and family. ❤

As long as Enoch and I knew Dyllan, he reflected the image of our Lord in so many ways. For such a young man - he was so mature, thoughtful and kind to others. I know that you will miss him, just as I miss Enoch. I will be praying for comfort, for Faith and Trust in our Lord... for Peace. You will see him again just as his Savior promised.

Hi Andy - May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow. Keeping you and your family in my thoughts and prayers. May Dyllan's soul rest in peace.

Dyllan's Obituary

Dyllan Sebastian Rye, age 17, born October 7, 2007, in Des Moines, Iowa, passed away on August 25, 2025. He was the beloved son of Andrew and Amanda Rye, who welcomed him into their home in June 2009 and adopted him in December 2010.

Dyllan was homeschooled in elementary and middle school before attending Logos Online School for grades 9–11. Academics came easily to Dyllan. He consistently earned A’s in all his classes and was known for his exceptional intelligence and diligent nature.

A true morning person, Dyllan's cheerful demeanor brightened the start of the day for those around him. He was active, affectionate, and loved to laugh. Possessing a competitive spirit, he excelled in sports and games with friends and family. Dyllan was remarkably organized and meticulous, but he also had a rough and tumble side. He loved to wrestle, seek adventures, and take risks. He enjoyed being outdoors, camping, exploring, and hiking. Dyllan began working on a farm at age 13, walking beans barefoot every summer. This summer, he worked on a dairy farm outside of Sioux Falls. Dirt and hard work but a smile on his face, and he never complained. He dreamed of a future working with his hands, not confined to a desk.

Dyllan loved and trusted Jesus Christ as his Savior and Lord. God used the preaching of his Word to bring Dyllan to repentance and faith in Jesus, and he was baptized at Real Life Church in Ankeny, IA, at age 10. His family cherishes memories of worshiping with Dyllan as he sang his heart out and recent conversations about his faith in Jesus and love for God's Word. Dyllan was a young man of remarkable character, integrity, and faith, whose presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Dyllan is lovingly remembered by many family and friends including his parents Andrew and Amanda Rye; his siblings: Kaylee, Kimberlee, Kaelynn, Lucy, Jubilee, Theodore, and Liam; his grandparents: Paul and Linda Rye, Tonya Williams; along with many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Dyllan is preceded in death by his grandfather, Roger Williams.

Funeral services will be held at Abiding Savior Free Lutheran Church on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. Family will be present for visitation at Heritage Funeral Home on Monday, September 1, 2025, from 2:00–4:00 p.m.
