Earl (Bud) L. Black Jr., 90, of West Overton (in Mt. Pleasant) passed away Wednesday morning January 29, 2025 in Westmoreland Hospital in Greensburg. Earl was born July 12, 1934 in Waltersburg, Fayette County, to parents Earl Black Sr and Lydia Shaffer Black and was raised in Connellsville, where he met and married the love of his life Darlene F. Foreman. They were married 55 years until her death in 2015. Most of Earl's life he drove Trucks, becoming the owner and operator of Black Trucking Co., driving all over the country for 40 years and showing his family, and sometimes with nephews working alongside him, a working man’s way. After retiring from trucking, he found a lot of joy in driving school bus for Connellsville school district. He loved all animals and especially his cat George. Earl was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather and will be sadly missed by many family members. He is survived by his daughter Pamela and husband James Cochran, and son Brian and wife Kim Dzambo Black, all of Mt Pleasant, grandchildren Lucas and wife Katie Swank, Alysia and husband Marc Lehman, Zac and wife Gabby Black, Jamie Cochran, and Taylor Black, and great grandchildren Cameron, Huxton, Andrew, Harry, Charlotte and Max. In additional to his parents and wife, Earl was preceeded in death by his Sisters Ruth Shandorf and Margaret Gillen.
The family wants to express our gratitude to Jenn L of Twin Oaks for her dedication and care for their father. Personalized arrangements are under the professional supervision of Robert B. Ferguson Funeral Home. At the request of family, there will be no viewing. A celebration of Life service will be held at a later date.
