Earl E. Bloomfield, 88, of Davenport, Iowa, died Monday morning, July 22, 2013, atWestwing Place, DeWitt.The family will greet relatives and friends from 4:30 until 5:15 p.m. Friday, July 26, 2013, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 116 East 4th Street, DeWitt, Iowa.  A memorial talk will follow at 5:30 p.m. in the Kingdom Hall.  Kevin Metz will be officiating.Earl was born June 14, 1925, in Danville, Illinois, the son of Ernest and Grace(Woolwine) Bloomfield.  He was united in marriageto Lucille M. Ferrone on September 12, 1950, in Chicago, Illinois.  She preceded him in death on August 13, 2003.Earlwas a pipefitter and welder with the Pipefitters' Local 597 in Chicago until1976.  He then moved to the Quad Citiesarea where he owned and operated a Rug Doctor Rents franchise until retiring in2008.  Earl was an active member of theCentral Davenport Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. Earlloved road trips, even driving down into Mexico on one occasion and all the wayto Alaska on another.  He also enjoyed reading,and his morning and afternoon coffee outings.Survivorsinclude a son and daughter-in-law Daniel E. and Cherie Bloomfield of Kissimmee,Florida, and a daughter and son-in-law Deanna and David Tague of DeWitt, Iowa; agranddaughter Bethany (Andre) Diedrich of Bettendorf, and grandson Joel Tagueof DeWitt; and a great-granddaughter Elena Diedrich.Inaddition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents and a brother,Carl Bloomfield.Condolencesmay be expressed at www.schultzfuneralhomes.com
