Earl's Obituary

Earl Douglas Johnson1967 - 2026

Earl Douglas Johnson, lovingly known as “Doug” to all who knew him, passed away on January 30, 2026.

Doug was born on January 27, 1967, in Fort Pierce, Florida, to Earl Clarence Johnson and Sarah Vandela Mahaley Johnson. He grew up in Jensen Beach, Florida, where he attended Martin County Public Schools. At the age of 16, he moved to Monticello, Florida, a place that would shape much of his adult life.

Doug met the love of his life, Alice Monica Sawyer, and the two were married on her 16th birthday. They were truly a match made in heaven. Doug was a devoted husband who lovingly taught Alice many of life’s skills, including how to cook. In 2016, the couple relocated to Crawfordville, Florida, where they continued to build a life filled with love, laughter, and family. Doug was always grateful for the support of Alice’s siblings, Candy, Ken, and Sandy.

A hardworking man, Doug was a contracted construction worker of all types and was known as a true jack of all trades. There was very little he couldn’t fix, and he was always willing to lend a helping hand. He also enjoyed playing the guitar and had a deep love for music of all genres. Doug appreciated the simple things in life most of all and cherished time spent with his family.

Doug is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Alice Monica Johnson; his children, Karisa (Josh) Reams, Titus Johnson, Jessica (Blake) Norris, Terri (Garrett) Lasester, and Carrie Fender; his grandchildren, Emma, Brett, Tristian, Barrett, Bailey, Conner, and Cali; his loving fur babies, Buddy and Spot; and many family members and friends who will forever treasure his memory. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
