The home going celebration for Jessie Earlene Jackson, 80, will be Saturday, February 21, 2026 at the Metropolitan AME Church at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend John Flenory officiating. Interment will follow at Clearview Cemetery.
Jessie Earlene Jackson, beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend, peacefully entered eternal rest on February 8, 2026 in Ardmore, Oklahoma. She was born November 20, 1945, in Ashdown, Arkansas to Jesse Pigue and Jeraldine Pickens LaFrae. Affectionately called Earlene, she was the second oldest of thirteen children. Later the family moved to Ardmore where she attended Ardmore public schools and graduated from Ardmore Douglass High School.
At an early age, she professed a hope in Christ and was baptized at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church. Raised in a close unit community grounded in faith, family, and resilience, she developed a spirit of strength and compassion that would define her life.
She married Stoney Jackson and this union produced “the apples” of her eyes, Stoney Jackson, Jr., Victor Jackson, Gene Paul Jackson, Jimmy Jackson and Charles Brown.
She worked at Uniroyal for many years until her retirement. She enjoyed fishing and occasional trips to the casino. Earlene was known for her dry humor, her wisdom, encouragement, and of course her greens and hot water cornbread.
Though she has departed this life, her legacy of love, faith and perseverance will continue to shine brightly in the lives she has touched.
She leaves to cherish her memory all of her sons, her sisters, Cynthia Pickens, Sherry Pickens, Velma Pickens and Joyce Pickens McGee; numerous grand grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren along with many cousins and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, John T. McCoy; Clyde Pickens; and Eddie Moore; sisters, Joann Pickens; Melissa Ervin; Fern Pickens; Myrtle Lee; Linder Gomez and her precious grandson Jaxon Eugene Pickens.
Services are under the direction of Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home and Crematory where online condolences for the family may be left at www.hdouglasfuneralhome.com.
