So sorry to hear of Edie´s passing. I had the privilege of working with her when I first started at Finch. She was a wonderful lady.

I didn´t know Edith but I read she was an avid Elvis fan. Any fan of Elvis is an Elvis friend of mine. Rest in peace and Rock n Roll with Elvis in Heaven Beverly

Edith "Edie" (Conklin) Closson, passed away on March 2, 2025 at the age of 94.  She was born on May 22, 1930 in Ballston Spa, the first of five generations in her family, leaving behind a lasting legacy of love and strength. 

She is survived by three children, Duane Closson (Carol), Sandra Austin, and Carol Trackey (James); ten grandchildren, Rachel Anne Sanabria (Josias), Courtney Bradley (Brian Gasper), Melissa Trackey (Ryan Holland), Paul Austin, Eric Closson (Shelby), Justin Trackey (Jackie Langdon), Haley Closson, Alicia Ramirez, Raymond L Closson, and Rene Heller; five great grandchildren, Brooke, Iliana, Josiah, Ella, Shania and Sawyer; four great-great grandchildren, Ezra, Oakley, Raenyra, and Sophia; sister, Rose LaFountain; and brother, Kenneth Conklin.

Edie is predeceased by her husband of 61 years who passed in May 2011; one son, Raymond in 2010, also two grandchildren, Nathan Bosley whose Sandy's Son, and Lisa Winnie whose Rays daughter.

Edie was a beloved friend, mother and community member.  Edie lived a long, full, and enriching life always seeking adventure and joy in the moments she shared with loved ones.

A lover of travel, Edie had a special fondness for exploring new places, with her favorite trip being to the beautiful islands of Hawaii. Her travels were not just about the destination but about the memories she made along the way with close friends by her side. She was an avid Elvis fan and seldom missed a show when the tribute artists were playing.  Edie's had a dedicated career at Finch and Pruyn, where she worked for many years before retiring in 1992.

She will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Edie's legacy of kindness, love and adventure will live on in the hearts of her family, friends and all who crossed her path.

Edie also has several nieces that kept an eye out for her and she would mention how she appreciated their calls.

A special recognition to her dear friend Mary Edgerly who was a constant help right until the end. Edie's family will always have fond memories of Mary. A special thanks to all the kind people who would bring Edie meals and check on her in her last months allowing her have her wish to stay in her home as long as possible. Also a special thank you to High Peaks Hospice who helped Edie and her family through the end stage with dignity and compassion.

There will be a gathering at the Community Center located on the first floor of Earl Towers, 1 St. Paul’s Drive, Hudson Falls on Saturday, March 29, 2025 between 12-2 p.m.  Please feel free to come and celebrate almost a century of Edie's life with her family.
