I was saddened by the news on the loss of Ms. Lampkin. I had come to know her as a kind, endearing, and protective friend. She always looked out for me and whenever she saw me working outside in the yard of my rental home. She offered me a shade and a cold drink when it was hot and a hot drink and shelter when it was cold. But what she offered most importantly was her kindness. Her kindness Is something not often seen nowadays. She never went without letting me know how much she cared...

To the family of Mrs. Edna Lampkin, please accept our deepest sympathy and condolences. I will treasure the beautiful and precious memories being your next door neighbor for several decades until I moved to Texas. We pray that “The Lord bless you, and keep you; The Lord cause His face to shine on you, and be gracious to you; The Lord lift up His face to you, and give you peace. Numbers 6: 24-26.
