Edward David's Obituary

Edward David Jeffries, Jr., 69, of Columbus, formerly of Harris County, died Tuesday, July 22, 2014 at Midtown Medical Center, Columbus. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm, Friday, July 25, 2014 at the chapel of Cox Funeral Home, Hamilton with Pastor Rick Lipp officiating. Interment will be private. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 pm Thursday at the funeral home.Mr. Jeffries was born September 14, 1944 in Columbus, the son of Edward David Jeffries, Sr. and Flossie Allen Jeffries. He was the former owner of Burglar Alarm Service Co. and attended Community Chapel in Pine Mountain Valley. Mr. Jeffries was preceded in death by a grandson, Matthew Wynn Jeffries.Survivors include his wife Hazel Railey Jeffries of Columbus; two sons, John Jeffries and his wife, Michelle of Hamilton, Michael Jeffries and his wife, Lori of Columbia, SC; one step-son, BJ Elliott and his wife, Christi of Ellerslie; five grandchildren, Kyle Jeffries of Knoxville, TN, David Jeffries of Columbia, Zach Jeffries of Columbia, Catherine Jeffries of Hamilton, Tanner Elliott of Ellerslie and his beloved pet, Cooper.In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mr. Jeffries may be made to Columbus Hospice, 7020 Moon Road, Columbus, GA 31909.Cox Funeral Home, Hamilton in charge of arrangements.
