Family Moments

Uncle Lamar was always very kind to me. I have fond memories that include staying overnight at his home and playing board games like battleship. More recently we spent time together in Florida and he shared with me many family memories. He enjoyed eating out and we enjoyed Chinese, Mexican and many more cuisines together. He had a sweet humble way about him always. I am so blessed to have time on this earth with him. I love you Uncle Lamar and will miss you till we meet again in heaven.

Edward Lamar's Obituary

Edward Lamar Fountain of Florala passed away April 28, 2025

Edward Lamar Fountain, a devoted brother, son, and husband, passed away peacefully on April 28, 2025, after a long and courageous battle with advanced Alzheimer’s disease.

Lamar was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Victoria Fountain, with whom he shared true love and companionship. He was also preceded by his parents, Jewel and Bruce Fountain, and his brothers, Joe Fountain and Billy Ray Fountain.

He is survived by his loving sisters, Janice Gainey, Willa Jean Adkinson, and Betty (Paulette)Paul. Lamar’s gentle heart and sweet nature made him a treasured brother, and his family will always hold close the kindness and care he so freely gave.

Those who knew Lamar will remember him for his quiet strength, his love for family, and the way he always put others before himself. Lamar never complained and always had a gentle smile on his face, even through life’s challenges.

Though Alzheimer’s took much from him in his final years, it could never take away the love he gave or the legacy of kindness he leaves behind. His family finds peace in knowing he is reunited with his wife, parents, and brothers, and that his spirit lives on in the hearts of those who loved him.
