Edward M. Kimbrell, Ph.D.

Dr. Kimbrell taught me Media Law back in the 90’s. His lectures were legendary and I looked forward to class each week. He was always there to consult and wanted you to perform well. He will be surely missed.

Ed was a wise and wonderful colleague at Wsmv and the wider world of media and news thinkers. May his memory be eternal.

Ed was a newly minted Dean who took a chance on a young audio engineer and gave him a teaching job. That support lasted the entire time and I’m grateful. I was also grateful to have known this wonderful, eloquent man with the ready smile and wry wit. Thank you Ed.

Dr. Kimbrell was a wonderful teacher whose enthusiasm was infectious. I am so thankful to have been in his class. He left a great legacy.

He was an awesome instructor & a man of unquestionable integrity. He will remain in my heart and mind.

Ed Kimbrell was one of the finest teachers I have ever known and certainly one of the top 3 best professors at MTSU. I will always remember his brilliance, kindness, and passion for helping other. He is one of the reasons I became a college professor, and I suspect a lot of other people who have become education professionals will say the same thing.

Like so many of his former colleagues and students, I loved Ed Kimbrell. Brilliant, thoughtful, inspirational, and giving, he encouraged you to find your best self and then wholeheartedly supported you in that quest. He was a truly great man. His words and his actions will live on in my heart forever.
