Edward Mirakovits, 80, of Northampton, passed away on Sunday, February 10, 2019 at Phoebe Home, Allentown. Born May 11, 1938 in Northampton, he was the son of the late Joseph and Theresa (Yelensits) Mirakovits.
Edward worked at the former Atlas Cement Company for 23 ½ years before transferring on to Coloric, where he worked 7 ½ years. He then worked for the Northmpton Borough until retirement. Edward honorably served his country in the U.S. Army. He was a member of Queenship of Mary Church. Edward was a life member of Alliance Fire Co. and a member of Fullerton Fire Co. He was a diehard fan of Detroit.
Survivors: loving partner for 18 years, Darlene Gillespie, and her daughters, Pamela Gerancher and Tiffany Shutta; sister, Theresa Mason; two nieces, Sandy Ehret and Linda Shanaberger, two great nephews and a great niece.
Services: A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, February 15th at 11:00 a.m. in Queenship of Mary Church, 1324 Newport Ave., Northampton. Family and friends may gather Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. in the Reichel Funeral Home, 326 E. 21st St., Northampton. Interment will follow in Our Lady of Hungary Cemetery.
