Dad, I will miss you each and every day. Thank you for being there for me always. Thank you for all you have taught me over they years, from changing oil to fixing a flat tire. Then for being patient in teaching me how to shoot a gun. Even so my first shooting alone I had to call, and you walked me threw it over the phone. I got that skunk on the first shot. Thank you for all the time you gave me after I bought my first place, you have taught me how to wire in plugs and put in ceiling lights,...

Edward's Obituary

Edward Raymond Vsetula, 88, of Owosso, passed away Friday, March 27, 2015 at Hospice House of Shiawassee. No services are scheduled at this time. Honoring his wishes, cremation has taken place. Edward was born on October 3, 1926, in Bennington, Michigan, the son of Anthony and Albina (Laza) Vsetula. Edward worked at the Nelly Company in Corunna before enlisting in the U.S. Navy on January 24, 1945. After his basic training at Great Lakes, Edward served on two naval ships before he was honorably discharged in April, 1946. Returning home Edward married Edna Zidnak on January 15, 1949 in her parents home in Corunna. Edward was proud of his heritage and was a hard worker. He worked as an electrician at the former Midwest Abrasives Mfg in Owosso while also working as a machine operator at Buick Plant 36 in Flint. Edward retired from General Motors in May, 1988. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting and fishing.Those who cherish his memory include: wife, Edna; children, Robert (Charlene) Vsetula of Perry and Linda Vsetula of Rudyard, Michigan; grandsons, Chris (Tina) Vsetula, Craig Vsetula, Robert Vsetula Jr., and Charles Vsetula; great grandchildren, Blake, Courtnie, Casey, Emily and Maddy; brothers, Steve and Henry Vsetula; many nieces and nephews. Edward was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Helen and Bessie; brothers, Frank, Fred, Jim, George and Ernie.In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial gifts to Hospice House of Shiawassee, 2005 Copas Road, Owosso, Michigan 48867 to recognize the exceptional care given to Edward as well as his family.
