We are so sorry for your loss. We enjoyed Sonny's company especially at Thanksgiving and Christmas. He will be missed.

Though our grateful nation mourns with you in your loss, we can only feel a small part of the loss you are experiencing.

Your loved one will always be a part of our country's story. As such, their sacrifice on behalf of our nation will always be honored.

While the process of grieving requires a lot of time and, somehow, is never complete, we will be praying for you and grieving with you.

Ed you will be missed, sure dad had more stories about when guys where young, rembering some good times you guys came to Nh.
You will be missed but you can be with the rest that continue to watch over us. Mom, Al, Gramps Frank, play some cards with all.

Edward's Obituary

Edward J. Weldon, Jr. 78 of Worcester passed away with the ones he loved at his bedside Wednesday September 7, 2016 after a period of declining health.   

 Edward was born in Worcester, a son of Edward J. Weldon, Sr. and Irene (Duchesneau) Weldon.  He grew up in Worcester, joined the U.S. Army serving his country proudly in the U.S. Army and the Massachusetts Army National Guard.   In 1971, Edward married his love Patricia Boddie and began a 45 year life together in love and togetherness raising their son Edward. 

Edward worked for Norton Company 15 years before accepting a position with Madison Cable retiring 10 years later.  After retirement, Ed volunteered his time helping others for the St Peter’s Church ministries.

Edward is survived by his wife Patricia; his son, Edward: and grandchildren, Joshua and Jason all of Worcester; Many nieces, nephews and extended family members.  Two brothers, Alfred and Paul Weldon Sr. and two sisters, Alice Welch and Jeannette Chenevert pre deceased him.  

 Edward was a member of Our Lady of the Angel’s Church and the United American Veterans Post. He loved watching the New England Patriots, was a diehard New York Yankee fan, loved to travel and be with his beloved Patricia.  They were always together. To Edward, nothing in his life was more important than his family and being with them. 

Friends and relatives are invited to calling hours Sunday, September 11th from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & chapel, 370 Plantation St.  His funeral will be held Monday, September 12th from the funeral home with a procession to Our Lady of Angel’s church 1222Main Street where his Mass will be held at 10:00 am.  Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in his name can be made to the American Heart Association, 300 5th Avenue, Suite 6, Waltham, MA  02451-8750.
