Edwin Everett Archambault (92) was born on July 25, 1933, in Chicago, when, at the end of the great depression, names were hard to get. He was “sort of” named after his father with the reversal of middle and first names (Everett Edwin) and his mother Mildred Alice Perkus who complained he didn’t arrive until 3:31 am, keeping her up all night. In retaliation, she, years later, called him at 3:31 am to wish him a happy birthday. He also had a younger brother Roger (Rosalie) who predeceased him.Edwin is survived by his three children, Debra Guertin (Garry), Denise Concepcion (Nelson), William, grandchildren Jason, David (Colleen), Michelle, Andrew, Rachel, Jesse (Stephanie) and Kyle. Also, great grandchildren Caylee and Graham.His wife Brenda also survives him along with her children Lauren Blaha (Ted, deceased), and son Eric (deceased). PopPop is also survived by Christina Forristall (Rich), Joseph Blaha (Kristina), Rebekka Blaha, Daniel Kaharl, and John Kaharl. Also, great grandchildren Olive, Hazel, Ripley and Dune.Having met Brenda at Deb and Garry’s wedding in 1977, they soon became a couple and, between work, went on worldwide trips. Their travels took them to all 50 states and about 150 countries. In between, they travelled Lake Michigan on their power boat and sailed the Aegean Sea. After graduating from DeVry, he served in the US Army as a member of the first signal corps involved in television. Ed retired from WGN TV as a senior technical director mid to late 1990s and they moved to Sun City West, Arizona where he resumed serious golfing and became active in the community.After becoming ill with Myasthenia Gravis, an autoimmune disease, it became necessary to move closer to his daughter, Deb, and Brenda’s daughter Lauren for their ongoing medical needs. Although Arizona was their home for close to 30 years, a move to Connecticut in 2021 became the final chapter for their life together. Ed was the last of a group of close friends from high school days and talked frequently with the retirees on WGN in Zoom meetings.He had a good life, traveled to places he longed to see, worked with a fine group of people, and did it all his way.
