Edwin's Obituary

Edwin Wayne Finley (Eddie), of Blanchard, Oklahoma, passed away on November 1, 2025, in his home surrounded by his family.  He was born April 28, 1967, in Norman, Oklahoma to Karen Sue and Jackie Joe Finley.

Eddie’s father’s career took the family to several countries in his youth, including Bahrain, Indonesia and Singapore.  When they moved back to Oklahoma, he spent his time helping his grandparents, Wilma Dean and Rean “Bogg” Brooks on the dairy farm.  He enjoyed working on the dairy farm and running the creeks hunting and fishing.  He graduated from Blanchard High School in 1986.

Eddie married the love of his life, Deanna Kaye Brewer, on September 17, 1998.  Together they raised their 4 children, Brittany, Seth, Shelby and Jonah, in Blanchard, Oklahoma.  One of his favorite past times was taking Seth, Jonah and his nephew Justin camping and hunting.  They would spend an entire week in the woods at the campsite having the time of their lives.  And even if they didn’t get a deer, they would ALWAYS have fun.  When he wasn’t working or spending time with the family, he was cooking.  He was an amazing cook and could make a 5-course meal out of ramen noodles and leftovers.  Cooking was his stress reliever, and he loved cooking for his family and friends.  When Brittany and Shelby were younger, he liked making them cook with him to make sure they were strong and independent.  Game nights with the kids was also one of his joys.  He loved aggravating the kids by ALWAYS beating them at Monopoly.

Eddie and Deanna moved to Arkansas in 2013 and then to Alabama in 2016.  They enjoyed riding their motorcycles to Panama City Beach in Florida and spending time with friends and family.  He used to tell everyone that Deanna was not allowed to get on the Pinterest app because that always caused him to work.  But don’t let that fool you, he loved doing anything she asked.

Eddie is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents and his maternal grandparents, Rean Wilson Brooks and Wilma Dean (Freeman) Brooks, uncle Jerry Don Brooks, uncle Rean Paul Brooks, uncle Larry Dean Brooks, and father-in-law Russell Dean Brewer

He is survived by his loving wife, Deanna Kaye (Brewer) Finley, daughter Brittany Finley, son Seth Finley, daughter Shelby Finley, son Jonah Finley, son Kevin Cornelius, his parents, Jackie Joe and Karen Sue Finley, sister Darla Jeanine (Finley) DeAngelis and husband Frank DeAngelis, nephew Justin DeAngelis and wife Abbey DeAngelis, brother-in-law Steven Brewer and wife Tonya Brewer, nieces Theresa Lux and her husband Brian Lux, Caley Brewer, Grandchildren Zoei Hall, Vash Hall, Cooper Finley, Lincoln Finley, Jaxton Finley, Alyson Kirk, and many other family and friends

The family will have a private memorial service at a later date.
