Efren was a really great friend in grade school. He was even nice enough to take me to my freshman year homecoming. My heart goes out to Elisa and his children. His parents and his siblings. I will forever remember Efren as the sweet, funny, loving person he was.

He was my marine, my friend and my brother. He was there for the call and when someone asked for help. He was funny and always doing the craziest things. His loss is felt across the land, air and sea. I am a better person having served with him and lucky to have had the honor to have been his corpsman. My condolences and prayers go out to his family, friends, brothers in arms and those who got the chance to know him.
