Eileen's Obituary

Eileen M. Pins, 95, of Dyersville, Iowa, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Wednesday, November 30, 2022, at Epione Pavillion in Cuba City, Wisconsin.

Visitation for Eileen will be held from 8:30 to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 10, 2022, at the Reiff Funeral Home in Dyersville, Iowa, where services for Eileen will be held at 11:00 a.m with Deacon Roger Riesberg presiding. Lector will be Louis Pins.  Burial will be held at St. Francis Cemetery.  Anyone interested in sending memorials may send them to Reiff Funeral Home, Attention: Eileen Pins Family, P.O. #271, Dyersville, Iowa, 52040.

Casketbearers will be Tony Grawe, Nick Grawe, Ryan Grawe, Edward Averkamp, Clair Riesberg, and Marie Weber.

Eileen was born on May 4, 1927, on the family homestead in Dyersville, Iowa. She was the daughter of Louis and Gertrude (Prier) Boge.  She received her education in a one room school house in rural Dyersville.  Eileen was united in marriage to James L. Pins on November 9, 1948, at the Basilica of St. Francis Xavier in Dyersville, Iowa.  Together the couple farmed on the family farm in rural Earlville, Iowa. He preceded her in death on Februrary 8, 1981.

Eileen was a very hard working woman with many talents, she loved to garden and was known to have the biggest garden in the neighborhood, of which she canned and preserved much of her produce.  She made a lot of quilts all of which she was very proud of.  She enjoyed baking and made the most delicious apple pies.  She loved to play solo cards with her friends over the years.   Eileen liked the art of wood working and enjoyed refinishing old furniture to new beauty.

She was a member of the Basilica of St. Francis Xavier Parish in Dyersville.

Eileen is survived by five children, Carla (Donald) Averkamp of Cuba City, WI, Keith (Carol) Pins of Manchester, IA, Karen (Merle) Grawe of Dyersville, IA, Louis (Jacqueline) Pins of Milton, WI, and Joseph (Debra) Pins of Earlville, IA; 20 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Eldora Pins of Manchester, and Doris Pins of Dyersville.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; eight brothers and sisters.
