Eileen M. Thiesse, daughter of Edwin L. and Laurena (Schmidt) Moeller, was born September 25, 1929 in Martin County, Minnesota.  She received her education in Minnesota and at the age of 16 Eileen moved to Fairmont to attend high school, graduating from Fairmont High School in 1947.

On September 14, 1950 Eileen was united in marriage to Marvin John Thiesse at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Fairmont, Minnesota.  To this union three children were born.

While Marvin was in the Marine Corp, Eileen worked in California.  After returning to Minnesota she was employed in Minneapolis while Marvin attended college. Marvin and Eileen made their home in Winnebago, Minnesota from 1952-1966.  In 1966 they moved to Iowa, making their home in Cherokee until 1970 when they moved to Emmetsburg.  Eileen helped sew draperies for Sedlock Drapery and Furniture while living in Emmetsburg.  She was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker, caring for her family.

Eileen was a faithful member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and church circle.

Eileen and Marvin enjoyed traveling and spending their winters in the south.  They had the opportunity to spend two winters in Hawaii which they thoroughly enjoyed.  Eileen loved to read and had a love of geography and history.  She had an incredible memory for details.  She enjoyed sewing and playing cards, especially Bridge.  Eileen was involved in several card clubs throughout her life.
