(Age 68) Our beloved Elaine spent her childhood in Visalia and then Davis, California, and she treasured family trips to Sequoia National Park. She graduated from Westmont College in Santa Barbara in 1971 with a B.A. in English and then attended the Art Institute of Portland, after which she began her career in graphic arts. In 1976, she married Frank Dailey, a graduate student at UC–Davis. They moved first to Reno, NV, then Pullman, WA, and finally to Spokane Valley where they delighted in raising a family of two sons and a daughter. Elaine worked in each location as a graphic artist. She was then employed by Central Valley School District for 13 years, as a classroom aide and finally a high school secretary, but she saw it as her highest calling and profoundest joy to be a loving mother, wife, friend, and follower of Christ. On January 10, 2018, she passed away at home. She is survived by her husband, Frank; her children, Joel, Mark, and Laura; two brothers, Jack and Ken; and a sister, Evagrace. A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 19, 2018, at 7:00pm at Foothills Community Church, 11102 N. Forker Rd, Spokane, WA 99217.
