Elbert Magee, Sr.

On January 12, 2018 at Touro Hospital in New Orleans, Louisiana, God called Elbert MaGee, Sr. home. He was born in Kokomo, Mississippi to the union of the late Dan MaGee and Ida MaGee. He was educated in the Mississippi Public School System. Elbert accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized in Kokomo, Mississippi. He later became a resident of New Orleans, Louisiana and was a member of the Living Water Baptist Church. Elbert met the love of his life, Ada MaGee and were married on April 18, 1951. They enjoyed 65 years of wedded bliss. Elbert worked for Public Belt Railroad for 26 years until he retired. He was a hard worker and dedicated to anything he set out to accomplish. He was a quiet man, mild mannered, have little to say, but always embraced a smile on his face. He leaves to cherish his precious memory, a loving and devoted wife, Ada MaGee; two sons, Elbert Jr. and Rayfield MaGee; one grandson, Derrick Magee; one brother, Oliver MaGee; two sisters, Mary Johnson and Nell Tyson and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at 10:00am at Living Water Baptist Church 2104 Elysian Fields Ave. Visitation will begin at 9:00am. Interment in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Professional Arrangements entrusted to Majestic Mortuary (504)523-5872.
