I will always have a space reserved in my heart for Elijah; when I joined Trinity UMC some 30 years ago, Elijah was one of the first people to greet and welcome me into the faith. He literally came out of the choir stand where he was singing that day to throw his arms around me in brotherly love. I shall always remember that special moment in my life and all the many times we have laughed, cried, and broken bread together since that very first day. Rest in peace my brother, until we meet...
