Elijah O’Gene Sneed, Jr., was born to Elijah Sneed, Sr., and Lucille Jackson on September 11, 1947, in Austin, Texas. Elijah grew up in Austin and attended Austin public schools: Blackshear Elementary, Kealing Jr. High School, and L.C. Anderson High School (Yellow Jackets), from which he graduated on July 29, 1966.
He professed his life to Christ at an early age at Pilgrim Rest Primitive Baptist Church under the pastorship of the late Pastor Howard.
He was united in marriage to Addie Hardeman, and to this union, two children were born.
Preceding him in death are his parents, Elijah Sneed, Sr., and Lucille Jackson Sneed; and a sister, Vernell Sneed.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife of 47 years, Addie Sneed; two sons, Elijah Sneed III and wife, Shontre, and Reginald Sneed and fiancée, Monica; two grandchildren, Elijah R. Sneed and Shondria Sneed; one brother, Lonnie Sneed; two sisters, Clara Houston and husband, Charles, and Mattie Sneed; all of Austin, Texas; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, many friends, and his German shepherd, Wes.
