Elizabeth “Beth” Ann Walker Hume, 74, wife of Robert “Bobby” Jean Hume, passed away Tuesday, February 24, 2026. Born in Cocoa, FL at Patrick’s Air Force Base, on August 3, 1951, Beth was the daughter of the late Horace Witherspoon Walker and Anna Vee York Densburger.
Including her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Heather Hume; two siblings, Jana Riley and Randy Walker; and a sister-in-law, Emma Waldridge.
Beth grew up in Napa Vally, CA, before moving to South Dakota, then later to Lawrenceburg, KY, where she has spent the better part of the last 50 years. She was baptized October 11, 1997 and became a devout member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, where she worked as treasurer of the church, as well as a leader in Children's Church. Beth loved taking care of others, which was reflected in her profession as a LPN. She retired from Anderson County Senior Citizens Center to take care of her grandchildren. Her grandchildren were one of her greatest joys in life. She loved teaching them to cook and camping with them. For a time in her life, she was a florist, where she owned a florist shop in Lawrenceburg, Mefford-Hume Flowers & More. During her free time, Beth loved crafting and had a special place in her heart for crocheting.
Along with her husband of 41 years, Bobby; Beth is survived by 5 children, Robert “Robbie” Hume (Nicole) of Lawrenceburg, Russ Taylor (Bethany) of Georgetown, Wendy Gilliam (Kevin) of Lawrenceburg, Greg Taylor (Nancye) of Fisherville, and Bethany Holt (Jon) of Lawrenceburg; 22 grandchildren, Amber, Nic, Hannah, Grace, Austin, Savannah, Whitney, Morgan, Madison, Makenzie, James, Kenneth, Gabe, Mat, Nate, Marybeth, Josh, Azia, Anzlee, Audrey, Cheyann, and Waylon; 15 great grandchildren, Royse, Ray, Wylie, Madeline, Clay, Shane, Marshall, Dallas, Delouca, Idris, Raelynn, Allie, Aubrey, Grayson, and Amelia; 3 siblings, Kevin Walker of Frankfort, Krista Hegwood (Chris) of GA, and Donna Guissanie of CA; a brother-in-law, Danny Riley; and 6 special nieces and nephews, Jessica, Dalton, Kendall, Emalyn, and Christy.
Funeral service will be 7:30 PM Friday, February 27, 2026 at Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home. Visitation will be 3:00 PM until the time of service.
