I do remember that wonderful smile. My thoughts and prayers go out to all those whose lives Eileen touched. Fond memories of Stover Fork and Cherry Valley Church.

Eileen Matics moved down here with her youngest son John and me and my siblings took him in as our brother and she and my dad and mom became best friends. Eileen had always been there for us as she would her family. She was a part of our family may not be by blood but she was a part of us. I love u Eileen and I'll see u soon.

Elizabeth “Eileen” Conley Matics, 82, of Spencer, died Thursday, October 23, 2025, at Camden Clark Hospital, Parkersburg.
She was born June 5, 1943, at Parkersburg, a daughter of the late Ison K. Conley and Mary L. Miller Conley.
In addition to her parents, Eileen was preceded in death by her beloved son, John I. Matics; one grandchild; two sisters; two brothers.
Eileen was a retired employee of Roane General Hospital, Spencer and a dedicated member of Cherry Valley Church, Stover Fork.
Survivors include her two sons, James S. (Sandra) Matics, Jr. and Stanley A. (Neadia) Matics; six grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; one brother, Larry Conley; one sister, Jean (David) Epling; several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, with Rev. Wayne McGlothlin officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Rest Cemetery, Spencer.
Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
