Elizabeth June Green, affectionately known as “June Bug,” 84, of Collinsville, Texas passed away peacefully on her birthday, October 7, 2025. Born October 7, 1941, in Roswell, New Mexico, to Cliff and Opal Barbe. June lived a life guided by faith, love, and devotion to her family and community.
She attended Midwestern State University and Vernon Regional before dedicating many years to civil service at Sheppard Air Force Base. On July 24, 1981, she married the love of her life, Douglas R. Green. This began a partnership built on respect and faith. Doug and June were active members of the First Baptist Church of Devol, Oklahoma, where her gentle spirit and readiness to listen touched many lives.
Those who knew June will remember her as a loving mother and a good listener whose presence brought warmth to every room. She found great joy in reading her Bible and spending time with her grandchildren, whom she cherished deeply.
June is survived by her sons Bobby Sinks and wife, Lori, of Burkburnett, Texas, Jason Sinks and wife, Angelia, of Collinsville, Texas; step-sons, Randy Green and wife, Belinda, Shane Green, and Darrell Green and wife, Alicia. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and grandchildren. June was preceded in death by her husband, Douglas, her parents, two aunts, two brothers, and one sister.
Funeral services will be conducted at First Baptist Church in Devol, Oklahoma, on Saturday, October 18, 2025 at 3:30 in the afternoon. Interment to follow in Devol Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday, October 17, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Owens & Brumley Funeral Home in Burkburnett, Texas.
Her legacy of kindness and steadfast faith will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know her.
