Elizabeth's Obituary

Elizabeth J. Mathis (nee Taylor) passed away on July 15, 2024.  Formerly a resident of Audubon Park, NJ she was 94 years old.

Beloved companion of 43 years to the late Clinton J. McCallicher.  Dear mother of Wilson L. Mathis, III (Julie Marco) and Sheryl A. Murtaugh.  Loving grandmother of Meredith Balakas, Karen Maxson, Stephanie Minton, Zachary Balakas, Adam Mathis, Brian Murtaugh, Morgan Thakur and Mackenzie Scully and great grandmother of 10.  Daughter of the late Irvin and Mary Taylor and sister to the late Marion Hess.

Elizabeth was a graduate of Murrell Dobbins Vocational High School in Philadelphia, PA.  She was also a longtime medical staff coordinator with West Jersey Health Systems.  Elizabeth wore many hats but she will be remembered most for being a devoted mother and grandmother.  Her interests were vast--she was an avid ballroom dancer, sharing this with her beloved companion, Clint and spending many happy times at the Oasis Ballroom.  She also enjoyed skiing, playing golf and traveling around the world.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing on Tuesday, July 23, 9:00 to 11:00 AM at the FOSTER-WARNE FUNERAL HOME, 250 S. White Horse Pike, Audubon, NJ.  Funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM.  Interment Locustwood Memorial Park, Cherry Hill, NJ.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Elizabeth's memory to the ASPCA (https://secure.aspca.org/donate/ps-memory-sl-p1).
