May the love and comfort of God surround you all with your family, friends and neighbors. Co-workers, as Nicole is laid to rest. May her buoyant laughter and pranks stay with you and make you smile, as you remember her each and every day. As you surround her children and love them and help them as they continue to grow, May they always know how important they were in her life. Beautiful blessings, each one. Difficult to find words to say, other than God will see each of her loved ones...

Jackie, Lloyd, Austin and family,
My heart breaks for you all. Nicole worked with my Mom Debbie ( Dobbie, dobbie, dobbie as Nicole called her) at the Training Center. Nicole was a shining light, always bringing much fun and laughter to Mom during work, as well as to me and my sisters by sharing their funny prank videos with us. We all felt like Nicole was our little sister- one of us.
May God grant you peace and comfort knowing we will all be Reunited soon.
Much love and...

With heavy hearts, we share the unimaginable loss of Elizabeth Nichole Burcham, 34, of Galax, Virginia, who passed away unexpectedly on August 9, 2025.
More than anything, Nichole was a devoted and loving mother to her three children. Her world revolved around them. Everything she did was rooted in love, protection, and a desire to give them the best life she could. Her kids were her greatest joy and she was theirs. She was also a cherished daughter, a beloved sister, and a loyal friend. She had a way of making people feel seen, heard, and valued – whether you knew her your whole life or had just met her.
She worked as a Registered Nurse for 6 years, a role that came so natural to her because of the kind, loving person she was. Nursing wasn’t just a job to her – it was a calling. She cared for her patients the way she cared for everyone in her life: with patience, tenderness, and a heart full of compassion. Those lucky enough to work alongside her saw just how deeply she loved helping others. Her patients always felt safe and seen in her care.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents Gray and Paula Burcham, and her maternal grandparents Edward Brooks and Lorraine Todd.
She is survived by her parents, Lloyd and Jacqueline Burcham; maternal grandparents J.E. and Ruth Wilson; brother and sister-in-law Austin and India Burcham; daughters and their father; Sophia, Aubree, and Thomas Buckley; and son and his father Kyson and Weston Whitter. Also surviving are a niece Esmeralda Crispin; nephew Liam Burcham; countless aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends whose lives were enriched by her presence.
The funeral service will be held Saturday, August 16th at 4:00 PM in the Endless Possibilities Church with Pastor Rodney Christman and Pastor Darrin Brannock officiating. Burial will follow in the Oakland Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 2:00 PM until time for the funeral service at the Endless Possibilities Church.
