Ella's Obituary

Ella Mae Dempsy, 70, of Bassett passed away, Monday, May 9, 2016, at the Memorial Hospital of Martinsville and Henry County. She was born in Patrick County on February 15, 1946 to the late Ernest Biggs and the late Annie Mae Adkins Biggs. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Walter Lee Mize, her 2nd husband, Arnold Dempsy and sister, Gertrude "Trudy" Biggs.She was a member of the Northside Baptist Church and worked at Bassett Chair Company.Ella is survived by three sons, Danny Mize (Cheryl), Randy Mize (Angela) and Woody Mize; one daughter, Cindy Mize Price; four grandchildren, Danny Mize Jr., Lacey Mize, Autumn Price and Logan Price; one great-grandchild, Sebastian Snow.The family will receive friends Thursday, May 12 from 12:00 PM-1:00 PM in the Bassett Funeral Service Chapel where the funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM with Rev. Ron Peal officiating. Burial will follow in the Adams Family Cemetery.
