As a sub teacher for School District No.1, I shared a classroom with Mrs. Breyer several times at the Margret Leary. She was thoughtful and caring and the children really liked her. My thoughts and prayers to her family.

Agnes "Ellyn" Breyer, age 93, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 27, 2024, at home with her family by her side. Ellyn was born in Butte to Andrew Lloyd and Alice Ellen (Coad) Lehmann on June 15, 1931. She attended St. Joseph's grade school and graduated from Butte High School with the class of '49.
Ellen married the love of her life, Nick Breyer, on August 5, 1951, in St. Joseph's Catholic Church. This was the beginning of a great adventure. Together, with their four children, they shared some ups and downs, many good times, lots of love, laughter, and a few tears along the way. Her love for children was evident in the number of kids seen playing on the big front porch and in the back yard. Many years were dedicated to the Campfire Girls organization: serving as sponsor, teacher, camp counselor, and on the Board of Directors. She worked for many years at the Westside Lab and finally retired, at the age of 70, from Butte Pathology. She volunteered with the RSVP Program, working with students at Longfellow and Whittier Schools. Beginning is 2008, and for the next 15 years, she was a "grandma" to the students at Margaret Leary Elementary School.
Preceding her in death were her beloved husband, Nick; and her brothers: Frank Lehmann and Dwight Lehmann. She was also preceded in death by all of Nick's siblings, including his sisters: Beverly Williams, Margaret Murray, Violet Garbarino; and a special nephew, Nick Williams.
She is survived by her children: Lexi Breyer, Brian (Arlene) Breyer, Lloyd (Janice) Breyer, and Nikki Breyer; and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Michelle Breyer, Andrew (Sarah) Breyer, Kayla and Lincoln Breyer, Shawn (Monica) Gabriella and Penelope Breyer, Keith (Leah) Nicholas, Elena, Lloyd Breyer, Janell (Justin) Warneck, Landon and Luke, and Nate Wright and Kris Wright. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews in Butte, which include, Jeananne Willams, Nancy and Con Sullivan, Stan and Linda Williams, and their families along with Tad Lewis in Washington, and Clyde and Sharron Gandee in Oregon, and many more too numerous to mention.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, August 05, 2025, at 11:00 am in St. Patrick's Catholic Church. Rite of Committal will be held for Nick and Ellyn at the Columbarium in Mountain View Cemetery immediately following Mass.
