Elmira "Myra" Lavene (Kerwood) Kaylor, 95, of Mason, WV, passed away October 1, 2025, at her home following a brief illness.
She was born September 3, 1930, in West Columbia, WV a daughter of the late Guy “Jimmy” Edward and Christene Virginia (Johnson) Kerwood. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Tommy Short; brothers, James “Boots” Kerwood, William “Bill” Kerwood and Jack Kerwood; sister, Gloria Carpenter.
Survivors include her children, James (Marsha) Short, Gary (Brenda) Short, Dixie (Carl) Gardner and Kathy (George) Donovan; grandchildren, Kristi Short, Kimberly (John) Johnson, Dale (Tonya) Blount, Tera (Becky) Gardner and Michelle Donovan; six great-grandchildren, five great-great grandchildren; sisters, Leta Bland, Emogene Duncan and Dixie Neal; several nieces and nephews and her beloved cockatiel, Pee-Wee.
There will be no public services at this time and burial will be in Union Cemetery, Letart, WV. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to a charity of your choice or Hospice of Huntington.
